Here’s what you need to know about your training<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Successful completion of compulsory education<\/strong> is required<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Duration of the apprenticeship:<\/strong> three and a half to four years, depending on the profession<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Dual training programme: <\/strong>a combination of work placement and approximately 35 weeks at a vocational college<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Employment:<\/strong> full-time with 38,5 hours per week<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Remuneration for apprentices:<\/strong> in accordance with the collective agreement for the metalworking industry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • Manufacturing of forging tools<\/li>\n
    • Forging by hand or with the forging hammer<\/li>\n
    • Manufacturing of forged products (e.g. dies)<\/li>\n
    • Machining non-ferrous metals<\/li>\n
    • All heat treatment processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n

      • Processing of composite materials (hard metals, fibre-reinforced materials or sintered metals)<\/li>\n
      • Manufacture of cutting, punching and moulding tools, including their assembly, testing and commissioning<\/li>\n
      • Conducting test series for initial sample inspection<\/li>\n
      • Option of a dual apprenticeship: Metal Technology, Toolmaking and Machining Technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n
