The \u00b1525 kV HVDC line will transport up to 2,000 MW of wind power from the north over a distance of approximately 540 kilometers to southern Germany\u2014from Wolmirstedt in Saxony-Anhalt to the site of the former Isar nuclear power plant in Bavaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first 18 kilometers of the overhead line, MOSDORFER developed customized DC and V-string assemblies between 2023 and 2024 on behalf of 50Hertz. This included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mechanical design and type testing of all components<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Load simulations and new connector and spacer damper solutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Newly developed composite insulators in cooperation with FCI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive mechanical and electrical testing, including endurance and thermal cycle testing at 120 \u00b0C<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electrical validation in collaboration with Graz University of Technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mechanical design and type testing of all components<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In July 2025, Mosdorfer received the contract to supply fittings and composite insulators (contract value approx. \u20ac1 million).
